I watched Fletch again recently. Really liked it. The music is great too! The Fletch theme by the guy that did the Beverly Hills Cop music and the track at the end 'Fletch is working over tiiiiiiiime'.
Anyone know how is Fletch described in the books?

Just picked up my copy of the book and it says:
"A lot like that Saturday Night Live dude. No, not the black guy, that's Eddie Murphy - he should play a cop too though - Maybe even a Beverly Hills cop. Hey, music man, I got a couple of jobs for ya!"
It's a confusing read.
This has been on the cards for years. Sadly, it hasn't got anywhere. I read a version of the script by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, etc), it was really good.
American actor Ryan Reynolds is the perfect person to play Fletch.
I was kinda hoping this was a Porridge prequel.

Yeah, looking more closely it doesn't seem too promising. The two writers listed on IMDb don't have great curriculum vitae.
I hope it does get out from the mire, great character.
