That sentiment is the epitome of passing the buck and reneging all responsibility.

Lord help me but that did make me laugh.

I'd say teaching was of value to the world.

Thank you.

I am a pipe fitter and road digger, Dolly Dagger.

That has an element of poetry about it. :D

Will you be qualified to wear a stove pipe hat, be a hypocrite and tease John Merrick?

:D

Sorry Rook, I should of course have added ...'for any job of real practical value to the world'.

Besides, I'm sick of doing practical. I settled for practical, manual labour ever since I left school twenty years ago.

Four years ago I realised how tired I was of it. I've done the lot as far as jobs go. I wanted to do what I was interested in. I'm not a fresh 20 year old you know, I'm thirty-five, world wise, from the school of hard knocks to the university of life. What makes me sick is people pointing and laughing all because someone else is daring to do what they want and know they can do with their life. More often than not the people doing the pointing and laughing are just as fed up as the one who dares to do something about it, yet they can't be bothered to do anything about it themselves...

...and I am unanimous about that!

So what does Victorian Studies involve exactly? Where are you studying?

Aaron, Victorian Studies involves everything to do with most of the nineteenth-century. It's cross disciplined so it involves history and literature; sociology, technology, politics, et al.

Leeds University College.

Sounds very interesting!

Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Leeds.

Have a look around, there must be others.

I bet you're pleased to know that.

Actually that can be said for both sides of the discussion.

Found this at Birkbeck, but it seems pretty heavy on literature rather than history.

I'm really have a terrible memory for dates and names though, so I'm not sure why I'm even bothering to think about it. :/

Do Government. I did it and it was very interesting. Plus you might get lecturers who appear on BBC election night coverage and you can say, "He used to teach me, he did."

Do something you truely have a passion for....apart from Zooo of course.

I made the mistake of doing a course that I thought would lead to a career. I hated it.

Unless it's media studies. Then just sit at home and watch shit on TV it'll be as helpful.

Do you want to get in to comedy in some way Aaron? Maybe you could be a runner for a T.V. show.

I did Government & Politics at A Level. Again though, I'm bad with dates and names, which doesn't make for the best of that type of subject.

*sigh*

I did when I was at uni the first time: now I ... well, I'm struggling to have any interest in it at all.

Not sure I'd want to get into it in quite the way that such a position may provide routes for.

True. If you were to get in to comedy in what way would you like to be involved?

:)
