Slightly odd stuff. Page 3

Paddy and Juan - multiple accounts are cause for banning.

Empty - as far as I know you could be a producer or even one of my writer heroes and so I could very well be kicking myself in the knackers but I have to be fair to everyone.

Crit is not comparable to submissions to commissioners. Also do remember not everyone is at the same level, the ages range from teens to pensioner, some are serious in their aspirations and others aren't, some take crit well and others not, some may have had a really shitty day and the last thing they need is unhelpful sarcasm, dressed as crit.

How can a comment like "Not funny. Not clever." help someone rework a piece? It can't. It's just a destructive barb that may bounce of other users but may hurt others. You may say it's a harsh world out there, and it is. But this place is a place to learn and develop your craft amongst peers.

When you crit, you need to be constructive; if you didn't like it, briefly explain your reason with the respect you'd expect (or hope to get) from others. If you didn't like it, that's fine - there's no problem in saying that but tell them how they could improve it... in your opinion. If you find that impossible then don't comment.
:)

May I just complain about the sexist retorts that have been used on this thread when it was assumed a poster was female. I felt they were completely unneccessary.
