I've never seen this show, but, speaking generally, that is a pretty depressing statement right there!

Johnny, why do you let yourself get so worked up over it?

Well that's the way I look at the situation.
I mean some people on here treat it like it's a major sin or something to like a comedy series that others don't like and balls to that.
I like it and will continue to watch it for whatever reason I choose.

I was in for a change so thought I'd watch it. Then I got a phone call.
Did I miss much?
I mean don't get me wrong, if people don't like it for whatever reason then that's fine.
I do find though that there is an incredible amount of snobbery in comedy, or even television in general, and I don't invest in that snobbery.
I laughed for a suprisingly long time at the chocolate bottom gag.
Does that make me a bad person?
And Timbo, the daughter is 19 - so hasn't been jailbait for some time.
Unless you murder her, of course - in which case all bets are off.
You are allowed to murder Quentin, though.
In fact, I think there's reward.
The chocolate gag amused me a little more than it probably should have, too.
Count me in as a liker of this. Could do without the fake audience - it sounded fake anyhow, it seems archaic to have audience and fake audience laughter in comedies these days.
I heard that it was live.
10 mins into it on iPlayer, not great but not too bad really. Better than Big Top and way better than The Gemma Factor.
Though the set looks like it's come from After You've Gone
To be fair it seems to have improved since series one.
Not blinding....but an improvement.
For me the real weakness was the interaction between the two adults. I felt when the kids were involved it was far better. I also liked the mother, who I think is a new addition.
The overnight figures are in and it got........
5.9 million!
If it keeps that type of figure up it could be the next My Family/ After You've Gone.
Quote: johnny smith @ March 17 2010, 8:55 PM GMTThe studio audience (if it does indeed exist) seems to be full of those sorts of people who laugh their heads off at any joke that suggests something 'a bit rude' - people of a Cbeebies presenter-level of innocence who wouldn't dream of ever swearing or saying anything crude and smutty during their own lives.
Surely it's a machine?

It did seem a very complete cast if the intention was for the chocolate to be licked off. I am trying to shake off a mental image of Caroline Quentin rimming Neil Dudgeon. And they call this family entertainment?
I quite enjoyed it. Not hilarious but a few good lines. All in all it's your typical BBC One family sitcom.
