Good photos you've taken Page 52

No, I knew it was only a branch line so there would be no trains at that time of night.

However we also used the train tracks to walk back from Dawlish one night, which was daft. And Newton St Cyres too.

Do you live around there?

Am at parents' house, which is nearish.

I used to work in a pub in Hertfordshire, and once a bloke came in who I'd never soon before. He complimented the beer, and said that his local pub made their own beer.

I said, "Would that be the Beer Engine in Newton St Cyres?"

He couldn't believe it! "How the hell did you know that?" he said.

He hadn't got a stong accent or anything, but I only knew of one pub that definitely made its own beer, The Beer Engine, and one that had brewing vats in the pub (but I didn't know whether they actually brewed) which was the Firkin pub in Exeter.

They used to do a beer that was over 5% abv, called Dogbolter, and if you had 5 pints in an hour you got a free T-shirt! My mate won the challenge, put on his T-shirt and promptly threw up down the front of it.

Is that still the case? Brewpubs are all the rage in the U.S. and there must be thousands of them by now.

I don't think they're relatively poplar over here, though I am willing to be corrected.

A village near me lost their local pub more than a year ago, but now a brewery has moved in next door to where they knocked the pub down and opened their own bar. They have 6 of their own beers on at any time, and change their production during the year.

Result!

This says that there are 136 in the UK:

It's getting much easier to find quality/craft beer in the U.S. and that makes me very happy. I can get great beers at the movie theater, restaurants and even the local gas station.

I think the slightly more common way to do it is through micro breweries, which then go on to supply 5 or 6 local pubs semi-exclusively.

Ha! I saw a lady with a dog like that today. She took it into the toilet with her!

Can anybody give me an idiot 's guide to posting photos? I do have a photobucket account.

I use tinypic.
It's fairly easy.

I go to www.tinypic.com. browae to the pic on your c drive, then upload. You havde to put in a cryptic password they supply, Choose the 2nd option for 'Forums and Message Boards'. Copy and paste in the BCG reply, make sure to change 'IMG' to image, and you're done.

If anyone has an easier way please do tell.

Just tried this but after blocking it, when I go to Page to copy, I lose the blocking so can't copy. Must be me doing something stupid.

Ha! Just noticed a 'sign in' thing at the top. Do I have to join?

Presumably to wipe her arse on?

You could have something there. There wasn't any flipping toilet roll in there.

No soap either. It was bad. :(
