The Two Ronnies

No idea how much may have been edited for rights or contractual reasons, but we're bloody excited about this. The first series of The Two Ronnies, on DVD! Even if that in itself doesn't please you, the implications for other similar shows are thrilling.

Or are we just very, very sad?

Series one: See Amazon product listing [p=http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3326768/The_Two_Ronnies_Series_1/Product.html]
Series two: [p=http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/PROD/3-/3349856/The_Two_Ronnies_Series_2/Product.html]

Seriously though. I really am very excited about what's coming out at the moment. MPFC, M&W, and TR. This shows an immense growth of faith in the British DVD market, and huge advancements in regards to rights issues. I really hope that the last families and other rights-holders holding out will give the go ahead for their concerned material to be issued, and then we'd be all-go. Until then, I'll be saving my pennies!

I got this the other day for just £8 at a CEX store near where I live. :)

Ronnie Barker is fantastic or should that be Gerald Wiley?!

;)

Oo, never really even thought about checking CEX for DVDs. Not sure there's one anywhere near here though. :(

Check on their website www.cex.co.uk to see if there is one near you or I think you can buy things (and even sell things) on line.

Aha. None near home, but 2 within 2 minutes' walk from the office.

Might pop in at lunch on Monday.

Cheesy!

I love the 2 Ronnies. I am going to buy right now. Woo!

I did go in CEX on Monday. Nothing much interesting. Might pop in on my way home again tonight and check there's nothing new.

That is the thing with CEX - being a 2nd hand shop you never know what comedy delights are waiting there for you. Sometimes nothing, other times you get gems like the Bottom boxset that is £40 in HMV for just £25!!!

;)

The first series was a good DVD, but there was much better to come. I loved the sketch about party trends- such as adding "poos" on the end of everything and when John Cleese came in jumping like a kangaroo saying it is the new trend, brilliant. But material was a little inconsistant, not enough sketches really, too much music and variety acts that don't feature the Ronnies. Got the first series for a tenner in Asda, haven't got series 2 yet.

I wear my cex! :P

I love CEX.

I have said this before but the two ronnies series 3 and 4 should be out next spring Laughing out loud

Yes. WE KNOW. Jamie, please, for the love of God, stop posting these things. Once is fine - as long as you use capitals, commas, full stops and the like - but please, do NOT repeat yourself in numerous threads! It's really annoying other members.

Yes, I was practically traumatised. In reading his post I lost 0.3 WHOLE seconds of my life. I'll NEVER win them back.
