British Comedy Guide

Give it your own spin......

Here's one for you as spin-offs seem to be a common occurence these days (generally not very succesfully in my humblest).

If you had the power to produce a spin-off (Green green grass, Joey etc etc) what would you choose?

For me it would be something like 'Herr Flick: the Gestapo Years' or 'Baldrick and family'.

Good question. How about Gareth from the Office. As a T.A. officer who gets drafted to serve overseas.

Yes very good question. I always wanted The Simpsons to do an episode about Lou & Eddie the two police officers. Not sure about a whole series though.

I'd have Basil Fawlty drafted to the Brittas empire.

That's just pure genius. Write them now. Bitch.

I can't believe I have become Aaron's 'bitch'!

How degrading.

How about David Brent trying to get into acting as an extra.

Arnold J. Rimmer: The Last Generation
The story about the upbringing of an utter git and how he came to join the Space Corps.

Trigger Fingers

After being made redundant from his role as a street cleaner, Trigger is coerced into becoming a cat burglar. With hilarious consequences (TM).

Gunning For Glory

Mike from Spaced becomes a Management Consultant but can't lose his obsession with guns. Brian is his team leader.

The Better Life

Margot Leadbetter finds it hard to adjust after her acrimonious marriage break-up and finds solace in the world of internet-based swinging.

The Ripper of Dibley

Dark comedy as Owen Newitt turns to murder in order to appease the suffering he feels after Geraldine leaves.

150 Storeys High

Errol leaves London for Hong Kong and ends up in a higher, grimmer tower block living with an even grumpier landlord than before.

13.8 Children

Jenny Porter marries a chav and ends up permanently pregnant on a Burbery Council Estate with a lowered white Vauxhall Nova SR.

It Ain't Legal

Alison is fired from the solicitors and turns to hardcore pornography to make a living. Post-watershed sitcom that pleases everyone who fancies Kate Isitt.

Drop the Dead Dick

Joy leaves the newsroom offices to set up a company as a bounty hunter specialising in tracking down private investigators and killing them. Sarcastic comedy from Andy Hamilton.

Some excellent ones Dan - would love to see those two made.

Brilliant! Laughing out loud

That looks the best of the lot Swerytd. I was thinking myself about something from the good like. Just imagine Margot dogging - pedigree of course.

Out of all the highly imaginative scenarios so far, this is something that should be pitched to the networks without fail. It's just so funny.

'Enders' - All of the cast of 'Eastenders' commit suicide in amusing fashion.

What do you mean 'Eastenders' isn't a comedy???

Duane Benzie's Gravelly Voice-Overs

The Spaced character introduces humourous internet videos with such a voiceover that everyone gets scared and cries.

It ain't arf 'otter mum - Lofty and gang jet around the world in a desperate bid to combat rampant global warming with a variety show that highlights the causes. The irony of the situation completely goes over Blair's head as he sponsors them to take the show to the South Pole. The show ends with the Berring Ice shelf shedding the lot into the Arctic Ocean

Mr Has-Bean - Rowan atkinson tries to resurrect his career despite yet another film.

Both Feet in the Grave - Victor Meldrew is back, possessing various guest stars during each episode.

You can @*£^ off M'lord - more hilarious exploits as the cast re-examine the 20th century shift in employer-employer relationships. Final episode ends tragically when the butler is sacked but turns up for work the next day with a shotgun and a grudge.

9.5 Grandchildren - cancelled by commisioners when the pilot plus all the show's actors under 10 years old are ceremoniously sacrificed by the illuminati (the thinking man's KKK) at Cypress Grove.

Arse - Ade and Rik create two 'completely new' characters, titchy titch and freddie fitler. Manic anarchy and hilarious violence ensue as the balding pot-bellied ex-good-looker and his bald epileptic mate get up to amazingly similar antics to another show that they once starred in and were actually funny in.

The slightly impressive whoosh - we go back in time to see the origin of all the in-jokes and suddenly all makes sense ... apparently (I jape Zooo)

On the Stage coaches - reg varney, and his buck-toothed and supposed 70s hunk pal, evade the wicked inspector and get their hands on some corsets - unfortunately its the ones they wear to hide their beer guts.

Give me, Give me, Give me - set in the PC correct world of post-neo-labour, this show features no dialogue or actors, just 30 minutes of the flat. It's boring but most importantly no one gets offended.

Some mother's DON'T ave em - set in an abortion clinic. If only the original had been.

Love thy gay bar - the gingoistic all-british hero is celebrating the move of his long-suffering neighbours, until he sees who's bought the house next-door.

Spring and Autumn (2007) - Jimmy Jewel's character is arrested for innapropriate behaviour to a minor. Laughs ensue as each episode culminates with the OAP actor beaten to a pulp in the shower block.
