Anyone got Freesat? Page 2

Define "most" and "encryption" then.

Dunno exactly, I haven't counted them all there's lots & some only available at different times of day.

But as I said my cheapo receiver doesn't do encryption, so if I can see the pictures & hear the sound it obviously aint encrypted.

Those that are encrypted show as BAD SIGNAL and my impression is that there are less of those than the ones for which I can see the picture.

This link shows the Free-To-Air channels on the Sky satellite, it says there are 200 or so:

Ah, thank for all the info. :)

What forked me off first about Sky is their "brand new customers only" cheap offer for a Sky + box, whereas existing customers like me with the normal Sky box wanting to upgrade to Sky + is £150. :( Plus another £30 installation.

We've got a TV with a built-in video recorder (remember them?) and missus tapes a lot of programmes (she watches more TV than me and there's always two things on at the same time) but the video recorder is pretty knackered now, so we will want a + box in the foreseeable future.

I found I could get a FreeSat + receiver box for around £80 with no subscription.
Hence my initial query.

On that link I gave above:

1.
Please note:

*You may need a viewing card to view some of these channels (this currently applies to some ITV1 regions, FIVE, FIVER, FIVE USA, Sky3, Liverpool FC TV and VIVA). These channels are not offered by Sky TV and their availability is outside of Sky's control. Sky will not be liable if they or any of their content is withdrawn or changed.

Thanks :)
