has anyone received an email yet confirming they got your script? I haven't but heard some people have? that being said they must have got some many entries over the last couple of days... I just worry too much.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the website state they'd accept posted scripts after the 22nd as long as the postmark said 22nd or earlier?

As to email reciepts, it's possibly too early for most of them as I suspect a huge proportion of the entries came in on the last week.
:)

As far as I remember they didn't ask for an email address?

Yes, it did.

They asked for it on the application form.

Having looked at previous winners (of John Brabourne awards in general), I don't think you stand much of a chance if you're a man. Chu-Li Shrewring, what a brilliant name.

Laughing out loud

You guys never fail to amaze me; you can't even complete a simple application form without f**king it up.

In what way were any applications "f**ked up"?

As entry for this competition was by post, it's unusual for them to confirm receipt of entry by email. The application form did ask for an email address - after postal address and telephone numbers.

Yes, but I'm not much of a man.

:D

According to N20's Twitter feed, over 200 entries have been submitted.

That's far fewer entries than I would have imagined. I thought there would be over a thousand, especially as the criteria encouraged female writers to submit.

The women were too busy trying to reverse park outside their post offices to get their entries in on time.

@ DD - I'm joking. :)

Just as a heads up, I got an email acknowledging my application/entry. So they are coming out about now.

Yes I've got mine. It said the winner would be announced in mid-May.

Got mine as well.
