'Take Me Out'

Witless half arsed lamb brained show that typifies everything that's wrong with this country.

Nah, it's a genius updating of Blind Date.

think I live in a country populated mostly by bloody morons

It feels that way, but looking at the viewing figures it gets, it's only about 8% of the population that are morons. :)

'proply' . . very good !

Up there with 'should of'

I like that name.

One of Sir Walter Scott's blunders. In Ivanhoe he transposed the letters of the Anglo-Saxon name Cerdic, from the first king of the West Saxons, Cerdic being an Anglised version of the Celtic Caradoc, the King of the Catevellauni whose name was Latinised by the Romans as Caractacus.

You should see how boring I can be when I really put my mind to it.

I like an informative man ;)

Think you're in there Timbo my son, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean Squire . . . .

;)

Probably been said already, when somebody says we'll be there first thing Monday Morning, then don't turn up.

You're still waiting Friday, and the Basturds still don't show up.

How do they sleep at night, knowing they've got my Money.

So-called 'history' documentaries that are just conjecture, speculation, dubious re-enactments and daft theories. They could save a lot of time simply by saying: here are the few known facts, here are some theories and in conclusion we don't really know.

I think the most irritating bit is the teaser where they imply that some tantalising revelation will be forthcoming; in the case of Channel 4 this is repeated before and after every ad break. You also forgot to mention the use of CGI: "This is what the Hanging Gardens of Babylon would look like in a cheap computer game."

I think part of my fondness for Time Team is Tony's palpable fear that they are going to come away empty-handed; Mick meanwhile seems to genuinely believe that proving a negative is as interesting as proving a positive, Phil does not care what happens so long as the film company picks up his bar tab, and Stewart is a bitter, mean-spirited individual who is secretly happy for them to fail so long as he gets to prove the others wrong.

Yes, the endlessly repetitive hyperbole bracketing the ad breaks is annoying. Any revelation or secret should be revealed right from the start, unless an investigation or court case is being told in chronological order.

Ditto (some) science documentaries..

Especially the ones with the rockstar scientist who patronisingly talks down to his audience as if they were children..

Those "Sun newspaper" diagrams he draws on his little blackboard to "explain" things..

..and that big-me-up soundtrack in the background.. all just an excuse to travel the world on licence payers' taxpayers' money.

Brian Cox I presume? :)

I can totally see why he would annoy some people, but he is one of the only scientists on TV I can actually understand, so his method does work. (And I don't feel talked down to at all.)
