I discovered tree's before they were poplar???

:D

Of course, no one on the BCG would ever diss someone once they became popular, especially that nice Ricky Gervais.

Whistling nnocently

Had to 'lend' my daughter 15K today to help buy her new house because the bank, having initially offered the mortgage she needed, decided it couldn't proceed. She has been told that she can remortgage in 6 months time to include the shortage with 'no questions asked'. We will then get our cash back Errr

There is a lot to be said for having no kids!

True, and it would mean you could finally get round to converting that basement you've had them locked in.

Wish my dad was as generous as you!

If your mum had been as gung-ho with your dad's cash, using phrases like 'it's only money' & 'don't worry me and your dad will pay'... he would be!

I love that this is on the 'Things That Piss You Off' thread. I just hope Will Cam's daughter doesn't visit this site.

'Here's your blood money, I wish you'd never been born. Now leave this place never to return!'

You are a very generous Dad, but I can see that it comes at a price. ;)

P.S. I bet Will Cam was actually quite pleased to help his daughter out and be Daddy to the rescue. <3

yes, apart from the last bit.

I think because I was a council house boy and have worked for every penny, I think we help our kids out too much.

SO. JEALOUS.

:)

Are we going too soft on our kids? I saw a hairdressers recently opened which was just for kids, with racing-car seats and all that sort of stuff. While there's nothing logically wrong with that, I couldn't help feeling uneasy. In my day, you'd be dragged along against your will and suffer the unwanted attention of some screaming gaylord, and it never done me no harm.

I read a newspaper article about that yesterday (not about you being dragged screaming to the hairdressers) ... about how there's a current obsession that kids must be kept happy at all costs, instead of being allowed to suffer life's ups and downs. Needless to say, the view was that this wasn't A GOOD THING.

Bet you never had a singe !

I always feel sorry for kids who act up in the supermarket / department store. I remember being dragged round shops as a small child and hating it. Watching your Mum do the shopping is without a doubt one of the most boring things ever as a small boy.

Then when you see the Mum's losing it and smacking their kids on the legs and telling them to 'shut up' when they start crying is heart breaking.

:(

I used to love shopping when I was little enough to sit in the supermarket trolley seat. Oh, how I miss the trolley seat.

Maybe it's different for little girls. The only bit I remember about liking shopping, was when me and my brother were given all of one minute to have a look around the toy aisle.

Nice one Mum, two hours to not buy a dress and then we get to spend mere seconds looking at the fun things before being dragged away.
