I do so wish that I had better diction and pronounciation and ... things.

It's never too late to attend a Swiss finishing school for girls.

Peering through the windows isn't "attending", no matter how you try stretching the definition.

:D :$

Why is it some people can't pronouce the 'g' at the end of a word as in winnin'.

It's not like they can't make the sound because they don't say singing as sinnin' but singin'.

Damn, so when I was described as a great sinner, they hadn't overheard me in the shower?

Soon to happen ....

F**in' England flags attached to the windows of cars !

Almost certainly at this very moment in a British nightclub there are 'some sort of football bollocks coming up' out of the throat of a drunken slapper. :)

In a nutshell Zooo Ode Pal !

:)

I was happy when I saw a bunch of flags flying on my last trip to the UK. Disappointed that they only come out for football matches.

I need to buy a new United States flag for the front of my house. I just realized that the current one is a bit faded.

Same here. :(

Then again, with the Union Jack considered somewhat divisive thesedays and with each of the four countries having their own national flags, the potential for the English flag (in particular) to become misappropriated politically is sometimes a problem.

It's better than 15-20 years ago when the flag of St George really was mainly hijacked and associated with far-Right groups. Some sort of progress really, if one looks at it that way. Hopefully in another 10-20 years the flag of St George will seem completely innocuous and simply patriotic (in a positive way).

In the US you are fortunate to have a pretty much undisputed unifying flag. (Though, I presume some still prefer to fly the Confederate?)

It's a chav thing.

Do you have that word in the Colonies?

It refers to the lower order who think that procreating, wearing sports attire all day and imitating the worst traits of soccer stars e.g. spitting, arguing with authority, taking one's top off in public at the first sign of sun and generally making an effin' c**t of oneself is acceptable behaviour.

I'd guess you call them Hispanics?

I tried semaphore once but I was flagging from the start.

:D
