Things that piss you off Page 565

Windows 7.

I'm going to go insane using this OS.

What's wrong with it?

Not running software properly. I can crash it at will. IE crashes all the f**king time. MSN messenger bar never gets the f**k out of my task bar just sits there with 2 tabs! Before I even speak to any one. The quick launch icons disappear. Show desktop is on the wrong side.

Something which has pissed me off (and the rest of my family)... our new neighbours have built a new fence in their back garden. There used to be a very small fence there (which was old fashioned and was barely noticeable) and now it's six foot high and they've gone and painted it red. Bloody red! Sticks out like a sore thumb and they didn't even ask any of the other local residents whether they should build it or not. We wouldn't mind but we've lived here for nearly 15 years and they have come along and made a right old mess of the area behind our house.

Ah, the MSN thing is quite annoying. Simple fix though.

Exit MSN. Find the executable (probably C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe). Right-click and go into Properties. Compatibility tab. Then tick to run in compatibility mode for Vista SP2.

Have had 4 different versions of W7 on two different machines and not had IE crash once, so not sure what your problem could be there.

The 'quick launch' stuff is now just 'pinned' programs. Right-click shortcut in Start menu and Pin to Taskbar.

Will try the messenger fix ta.

But you pin it and it just pops it up into the taskbar and removes the icon! I want 4 Firefox windows. NO you must use the file> New window. Why? It worked perfectly well before. I liked my icons there that launched programs I needed.

Another thing the white Sheeth of death. WTF just dump the prog if it's not ressponding don't put a semi transparent white image over the top of it! Arrrrrrrghhh. Where's my XP disc.

Ohh right, yeah, that's annoying. But again, an easy fix:
Shift-click on the app's taskbar entry. :)

The 'white sheath' is a bit annoying, but I never get it for more than a few seconds at a time.

I feel for you I really do.

I hate neighbours! It's like you have to be nice to them just because they live next door whereas, in the real world, you (sorry, one. I've been done for that before!) wouldn't piss paraffin on them if they were on fire !

Can't you paint your side brown or whatever ?

Clean install or upgrade from Vista?

Why do you assume they are racialists?

I don't want to shift click I want to do it the old way...I'm turning old I think.

Clean install or upgrade from Vista?

It's a factory install Win 7. I think wiping and starting a totally fresh install would be the way to go.

Is the term "innit?" particularly annoying? It never vexed me when I worked with southerners, as I fondly regarded it as part of the quirky Cockney vernacular. But I've spent the past three days working with an Australian who uses the Aussie equivalent, which is "idnit?" (perhaps better transcribed as "iddunit") and I've found it mightily grating. Partly because it is preceded by a perceptive statement such as: "Them politicians don't care about us, they only care about 'emselves, idnit?". And the bastard would then continue to repeat "idnit?" until I assented. I will never work with this fellow again. Innit?

I hate little shops where the till is to the side as you go in, and is near the door, so morons queue from the till outwards. There is a pie/cake shop in my high street like this where there are about 2/3 people inside the shop and every other bastard queued up out in the street in the pissing rain. Angry

Miserable bastards who seem to thrive on being miserable.

Is it that there isn't enough room or is it that your fat pie/cake eating ass won't fit? ;)
