One year I was a travelling minstrel/narrator because it was the main part and Mary didn't have any lines. The other parents would be so f**ked off because I never even allowed mine to come and see me in the play.

I think she was just singing in the chorus, but suggested herself to the teacher to be an angel at least. As the head teacher said of her in her first school report (she was aged four) "she knows her own mind and is willing to express it." Don't know who she takes after...

She's dark blonde and has olive skin like her dad. She's not a borderline albino like I was.

She can be a handful - but I hope she'll be able to stick up for herself in life and she did win the best friend award last year. She's also a lot more polite than a lot of children.
