Apparently John Lydon was nearly on that flight.
Anyway on a lighter note, I'm pissed off with how windy it is in the garden today.

Quote: AndreaLynne @ August 20 2009, 2:56 PM BSTI know 3 families who lost people on the flight and they are incredibly angry over all this.
They should be even more angry if they thought for a moment that the real killer was never brought to justice. It looks like Libya gave us a scapegoat, and the bereaved families were only too willing to accept him as an object of blame. He was identified in the court by someone who had seen his photo in the paper the day before!
Did you hear about the compensation package the Libyans gave us? By some strange co-incidence, it almost exactly equals the sum we paid Libya the year after, for oil exploration rights.
Plus that guy looks a bit like a Steve Coogan character... Not that I'm in any way trivialising a serious and tragic story.
We were friends with the families of 2 of the Syracuse kids and one family on board.
Sounds like a bit of trading has gone on to get shot of him.
You don't get leave for a second appeal without new evidence and if such an appeal was successful, all the suspects could be released due to an unsafe conviction.
They probably didn't do it but the UK and US governments needed a body, the Libyans were elected and they got a result. The Yanks are happy, the majority of the relatives believe it so best to sweep it all under the carpet and move on.

Libya formally admitted responsibility for the bombing. 'Nuff said.
And he's just got a hero's welcome back home.

Yes, why was that?

I don't know. I'm not Libyan.

I told him.
He asking if I moderated this part of the forum, I said no.
Great... I'm being shouted at, thanks Chappers...

Broadcasters who say 'sickth' instead of sixth.
Quote: DaButt @ August 20 2009, 2:50 PM BSTI'm quite angry that the Lockerbie bomber was released from prison. This is many orders of magnitude worse than the Biggs case: eight years in prison for 270 murders. Pathetic.
To be fair to the Scottish prison service, I'm pretty sure the guy is rehabilitated.
I willing to bet at least £50 that he won't re-offend and blow up another plane.
