For the last two months they have been removing (mostly) perfectly good paving slabs and replacing it all with tarmac, while the road is full of potholes. Now there's perverted logic for you, and causing utter chaos closing off chunks of the road, and using the entire layby outside the parade of shops to store their equipment.
But what really pisses me off is the signs saying "FOOTWAY CLOSED" - since when have FOOTPATHS been called FOOTWAYS?
Can someone stage an intervention?
Footways and footpaths are technically different things. It's too complex to go into now, though.

As I understand it, footpaths and footways are both for use by pedestrians only. The difference is the location : a footpath is a path that is not beside a road, and a footway is a pavement that is next to a road.
T'other way round I'd say.
