From the get go.

What does it mean? It's not grammatically correct. It is crap!

That's what I said after the Tory conman used it on Question Time.

From the get go.

What does it mean?

The "get-go" (note the hyphen) originated in African-American vernacular English and has been in use since the early 60s - if not before.

It refers to the moment at which something gets going and means "the very start".

You're welcome. Laughing out loud

At least he didn't say "my bad". Laughing out loud

... or "snuck". Sick Makes me feel ill just to think about the growing use of it.

I even heard it said on the BBC News the other night.

Some people are both?

Language changes and evolves,, that's the nature of it, I'm not convinced there was some golden age when it was somehow better.

People who, in public, cough into the air, open-mouthed with no attempt to cover it. This happened to me twice today in Morrison's and although I held my breath till I was well past them, I'm still convinced that I'll shortly develop symptoms of the Black Death.

Yes, I agree. Otherwise we'd all still be speaking Shakespearian & Chaucerian. But evolving is not the same as degenerating. Just spouting jargon that means only what you want it to mean, and that half your audience does not understand anyway, is not an example of evolving.

Do you mean black? Whoops - sorry!

Do you mean black? Whoops - sorry!

No, nothing to do with colour.

I knew it! And to think people believe I'm a hypochondriac.

Wet leaves on the ground. They're way more lethal than ISIS.
