Things that piss you off Page 1,665

There are charities who don't cold call or rattle tins at you, celebrities who support charities without bigging themselves up and volunteers who work very hard for no return other than to see the charity they genuinely care about able to help those it has been set up for. Let's not forget those.

Agreed. Let's not forget the millions health charities save the NHS. You could argue the government has a more cost effective, hassle free way to collect this money.

Yes, but they'd probably spend it on bloody Trident.

Lefty protesters today "Get the Tories out". Sorry folks but the Torys were put into government by DEMOCRACY. I never voted for them but I accept that they were voted in fairly and squarely. If you want them out I suggest you wait for 3 years. Some people only want democracy if it suits their world view. HYPOCRITES

Aye

You lot voted for this bunch of c**ts - you deserve everything you get

Got the nadir of all daily things that grind my gears.

And any 'poster' is welcome to state that something that pisses them off is others who moan about such trivia for longer than is perhaps necessary . . .

But bear with as I am sure I am not alone on bus shelter etiquette. There are unwritten rules for pedestrians generally, and who doesn't hate a bumbler stopping right in front of you for no apparent reason (my favourites being the bumbling spinners who literally stop and spin, and they have to kiss the pavement quite quickly courtesy of yours truly). But even worse is blatant rudeness rather than a simple lack of spatial awareness alone.

I am standing in a bus shelter at front of queue watching out for the bus I need when some chump comes along and stands right in front of bus shelter blocking my view altogether. Is not just queue jumping, is also invading my personal space as a piece of perspex does not justify someone leaning their backpack into your face by inches (why do they always have backpacks too?).

So I have been sworn at and shoved as these people bring out my inner bitch when I either move and stand right in front of them or push past when they attempt to board the bus first - but I embrace the abuse because I am providing a public service.

But I can't be in all bus shelters at all times, so human clamping is a solution, or 'loitering with intent to cause a public disturbance' with a flat on-the-spot fine for plain insubordination. I don't mind, provided we put a stop to such outrageous behaviour, people. Angry

government health workers have pissed me off today.
Due to my unfortunate genes my health has been a tad poor over the last few years so as much as I wanted to keep working it was advised that I should have some time off work so as to recover properly for fear of making things worse and last month I had an assessment to see if I could finally go back. I arrived at the time stated with all the bumf I was asked to bring in (medical reports, medication etc etc) and first thing she said was "you don't look sick", not quite sure what I was supposed to say there, I wasn't aware that you had to look sick to have an illness, schizophrenics don't look sick but they are.
I handed over all that was required, and she made the odd quizzical noise while reading the info and making notes to send off to people who will make a final decision.
So fast forward to this week and I finally get the results back and low and behold they've found me perfectly fine to work so I had to drag myself to the job Center to see a different woman who then proceeds to ask "are you autistic?", I say no and ask why she even thought for a second I was" to which she replied "you just looked it when you said hello" .....I FUCKING LOOKED LIKE IT WHEN I SAID HELLO????? Jesus Christ and these people are supposed to be f**king helping people. Now before I went for that appointment today I had another one to visit my doctor who's been keeping a check on me as all good local doctors are supposed to do (he may be French but he's a good bloke and genuinely seems to care about his patients), I showed him the report from the government health workers which made him laugh because what was contained in the report was nothing like what I suffered from, it had all been downplayed to seem as though I just had mild headaches and such so as far as they were concerned I just had to take a few aspirin and I'd be alright. He asked how they could even make that decision when the person who wrote the final evaluation had never even met me. Fair enough you may say but what I haven't said and what the woman I originally saw last month didn't put in the report was that while I was there I had what can only be described as a monumental fit, blacked out and didn't come around again until four hours later in the hospital and these sort of things happen quite often so I'm not allowed to drive anymore, use any sort of heavy machinery or leave the house alone just incase I have one of my "moments".
So yeah not a lot I can really say to that is there other than f**k you you f**king f**ks in government, I hope you all get cancer of the arse and then see the same woman I did who'll put it down to a case of dicky tummy.

I should have guessed there'd be trouble when a guy in a wheelchair with no legs and one arm came in and said he was there to see a work assessor as he was told to go on jsa. Appeals have been made and now they're going to have a new arse ripped.

TL.DR - government stamps on the vulnerable again and covers up a Monumental balls up while Jeremy Hunt has a sniper aimed at him at the first opportunity.

:O Wow.

Sarc- I went through something similar a few years ago. I was assessed by someone whom I later discovered had no medical qualifications at all! I was passed fit for work by a box ticker. When I later challenged this, I was told that the paperwork had ben sent to a "decision maker". Any jobs going in this fascinating sounding vocation? I have quite a bit of experience in this field of genius......

The whole thing is a complete and utter farce, I agree completely with what my regular doc said about how can anyone deem me as fit or unfit when they've never been in the same room as me.
Since I posted earlier I've re-read the "report" and caught something that I missed earlier, apparently that's not the full report, it's just the highlights and if I'd like to read their full report I need to phone them and request it. First thing tomorrow they're getting a phone call, I can't wait to see what other bullshit they've added or see what things haven't been noted that I said.

As Mr Frenchy doctor said you either tick a box or you don't, they don't allow for grey areas and unfortunately when it comes to capabilities and such 99% of them are to be found in the grey.
It sounds bollocks but what I think he meant was they don't allow any sort of leeway such as you may be able to do something one day because you feel okay but the next day you can't because the illness is causing you to have a bad day.

Sorry to read that Sarc it sounds like a shitty day and another genuine case which is being denied assistance because of all the mistakes bankers and the government make. The people who see us in these DSS assessments are probably a contractor of a contractor etc and it gets to a point where they don't care. To them it's a pay cheque until they find something better and will even be rude asking if someone is autistic. Nothing wrong with being autistic of course but it sounds like the way she asked was rude rather than a genuine question. It makes me dispair sometimes that we all have to take it up tailpipe like this. Other crucial services heartlessly being closed down without any kind of compromise while executives of utility companies and banks get paid multi million pound bonuses.

There are some good apples though and I've had some surprising experiences. I used to sign on for JSA in Northampton and fights and rows were happening several times a day there. A window was always smashed and it was generally a horrible place to have to visit. Always full of people trying to get crisis loans and then lashing out when they were denied. The abuse of that service was terrible but to end it completely is unforgivable.

When I had to claim JSA for a while when living in Stroud it was the complete oposite and even someone raising their voice was unheard of in the job centre there. People were more caring and it really helped motivate me to get my arse in to gear. A few times I missed appointments and could have got sanctioned and would have deserved it but I called the job centre who said they would speak to the 'decision maker' and let me know and on all the occasions they called back to say I would be ok. They enjoyed helping people and when I worked at Stroud District Council a few years ago it was exactly the same. I worked in customer services and the team were the nicest, fairest bunch I ever met. They never slagged off the residents and always tried to help them rather than make life difficult. It helped that the population of Stroud is only about 65,000 and it's a popular retirement spot so most of the customers were friendly, elderly residents. One day I was walking through the council reception while Keith Allen was waiting with his daughter (not Lilly) for a housing appointment and because I was wearing an ID badge he thought I was the housing officer coming to greet him. I felt a right cock walking towards him making eye contact and then right past without saying anything. I'm surprised I didn't get some abuse :D

No doubt I'm an extremely bad person but sometimes I think the folk who tried to blow up the Tories at their conference years ago, had the right idea. They're inhumane and inhuman bastards.

I just take it all in my stride, I'm used to people not believing that I'm not 100%, Christ My own brother of all people he's one of them but I know there are a decent people out there. I worked in Wood Green job centre a few years back and the staff there were fantastic, really friendly and helpful to everyone and so were the security guards.
There were the odd moments were people got nasty with us and someone did swing for me once but these incidents were few and far between. The irony being that when the guy swung for me I did get hurt but not from him, I ducked way to quickly, fell over and twatted my head on the side of the desk (completely unrelated to the blackouts), the fact I was on the floor laughing my head off at my own stupidity must have caught the guy off guard because he actually asked if I was alright while the security guards were dragging him out of the building.

I'm dead special me.

If that picture of you is representative I'm not surprised they're a bit wary of you.

Bit late to the party here, but Sarc I'm not surprised you're frustrated by the way the NHS has treated you. I would be too.

What peeves me is I help at a charity with adults with dyslexia or illiteracy , and as part of empathy building I will say, "Oh I'm dyslexic too" and occasionally I get the "You can't be !" maybe I should say, "Oh I meant I'm EDUCATED dyslexic. You lazy sh*t." but I don't, I just sort out their affairs for free.... maybe they're the smart ones after all ?
