My wife has the same set up and as far as we are concerned we get excellent service from them - there's even a chap coming to service her bed!

Mind you I think the "service" on the electric wheelchair is mainly to make sure we are not using it outside.

We have just had the hospital bed removed from my MIL's old flat and she took the wheelchair with her to the care home. I think that it's because the NHS is broken into so many different elements that it's really confusing these days.

Really? Mine is an indoor/outdoor, I didn't even know they did indoor only chairs. I have to pay to get my bed serviced. I suspect we might come under the same service provider Herc but it still varies from town to town in my experience. Maybe due to budget holder policy, I don't understand how this stuff works.
The current service provider contract is not being renewed from the end of this month and it hasn't been decided how the new system will work yet so there will be even more fun and games.
TBN - when my Dad went into care his bed was collected like a shot, even though my mother was on the waiting list for one for herself! Crazy system.

This should probably all be in the medical thread.
:$

Her wheelchair was donated to her when she was a kid. She gets a few free parts replaced but mainly the service and maintance is down to her. Anything NHS is contribution based pretty much.

Same chair for outside with a few mods. plus bigger batteries apparently.

Has she considered going down this route? http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/Pages/mobility-equipment-wheelchairs-scooters.aspx She is entitled to an NHS assessment and advice at least. I think if they offer or recommend a chair that she does not want she can get a voucher towards the cost of one of her choice. It does depend where you live and things are changing all the time, but it may be worth investigating.
Scroll down to 'how to get a wheelchair.'

Thanks Loops. Her chair is a very fancy one! Anything else would be a downgrade. :)

I'm answering in the medical thread because we are monopolising this one.

:)

Talktalk.

Tried to upgrade to fibre. Expected it to be activated Thursday. Come home, no phone or internet working. Contact Talktalk. Next day have an engineer come visit. Tells me that they had ran out of materials to upgrade me, so they had used some old broken materials? This was the Talktalk engineers, not him. He managed to reconnect me to my service. Contact Talktalk, more bullshit. Still waiting.

Not good enough! Angry

BT may be dearer than jokers like talktalk

But they do know what the FK they are doing!

Been with em, for about ten years and never had any issues

That's the thing, I'd happily pay for better service. It's just that you mainly find out these things the hard way.

Been with Virgin Media for yonks and have no reason to change. Good speed and generally a very good service.

Just wish they would stop harassing me with their mobile phone deals.

Virgin media is mainly for those who have a cable connection though.

Exactly. :D (He said smugly)

People too lazy to pick up their pull-along hand luggage when navigating crowded public spaces. You might as well drag a scythe along behind you.

F**king cocktail sticks! Why are they always in bloody insecure containers that spill them everywhere if they fall?

And I hate bloody rap with a vengeance - it destroys the music.
