Lofty there's enough DNA on that tea towel to clone an army of Lofties.

Quote: Ben @ 6th April 2014, 9:58 PM BSTI'm pissed off because I thought it was Good Friday in the coming week, but it turns out it's the week after. Was looking forward to just four days in this week.
Yes but on the plus side Jesus was resurrected on Good Friday before his accension to heaven to sit at Gods right hand
OR HAD YOU FORGOTTEN?
Happy Easter
Like that bit of the end of the Terminator when Arnie's back up systems kick in.
Yes, did you forget that imaginary thing that never happened? Ben you rotter.

How could he make chocolate bunnies when both of his hands were nailed to a cross? I can see why the atheists get all hot and bothered.
Speaking of religion and TTPYO - rampant atheists on Facebook continually putting up messages on how rubbish religion is. And then a day later putting up crap like 'Happy Saturnalia to all my Wiccan friends' - either religion is crap or it's not, bunch of hippy hypocrites.
Rampant atheists in general. I have always found them more patronising than rampant religious people. My friend's husband insisted on waiting outside the church during another friend's wedding service just to make a point.
Like, stop being a dick, get back in there, put your best big boy smile on and sing "All Things Bright and Beautiful".
Although I am secretly hoping he gets smited by lightening one day.
Ironically he may have a point
Churches are wrong
Your supposed to pray to God alone in private
Not in public with dozens of other people
Says so
In the Bible
Isn't it where 'three are gathered in my name' then let praying commence (I'm paraphrasing)...get the Bible right Lofty!

Yep, I don't believe in Father Christmas but it doesn't mean I go to Hamleys every year and call children stupid for believing in him or say 'Your parents actually buy the presents, not Santa, you little dick wipes!'.
I also know rampant atheists who've been to fortune tellers, read horoscopes, believe in luck, karma, ghosts and superstitions.

I imagined that in Alan Partridge's voice.
I am a secret rampant atheist intimidated into not speaking my true thoughts because of all the rampant Christians. That's suburbia for you.
Quote: lofthouse @ 6th April 2014, 10:24 PM BSTChurches are wrong
Isn't Jesus the head of the church?
So you are really saying that Jesus' head is wrong.
I'm fairly sure that's not in the Bible.
How about this.... I just opened a bottle of Sprite and noticed an unusual taste. Upon looking at the the bottle, it says on it "30% less sugar". Who has decided that I should have less sugar? I am not over weight, so why is some faceless git allowed to decide for ME that I should have less sugar in my diet? Low sugar, low fat, low calorie, low cholesterol...... low taste. F***ing nanny state!!!!

I thought Paul was the first head of the church

Now that is sad. I am definitely pro everyone speaking their mind. I've just watched a truly frightening documentary about a US funded university in North Korea (worth a watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfOh9eZlOUw) and am therefore even more pro it
What I hate is people who feel the need to impose their views on others -e.g. my friend's husband's very public strop.
A mutual friend has just issued their wedding invite with the words "our wedding will be at a church. That means there will be hymns and bible readings. We just wanted to let you know in advance". One would hope that was relatively obvious.
So in conclusion, my view (on all belief of all kinds) is:
Believe what you want.
Try not to be a twat about it.
