All gingers will be welcome as it's a Celtic thing. As for bloody lettuce! Gregg's cheese and onion pasties will be the national emblem.

Sorry David Cameron has ordered on the first day of independence all Greggs will be evacuated, and the recipe for Steak bakes, cheese and onion slices and Greggs cornish pasties declared a state secret and placed under lock and key in the tower of London.

Also evidence has just been discovered that Alex Salmond is outlawing chips and is infact a vegan.

Then I'll have to muster the Cheese & Onion guerrillas to pasty-bomb Downing Street.

Mi5 has released files that George Galloway will be replacing the queen as the first monarch of Scotland.

All money will have a picture of his tanned brown arse on it and you'll have to kiss it before spending it.

To be honest there's not much to choose between them - self-seeking arses.

Three different friends on Facebook have put up anti-Coca-Cola messages over the Sochi Olympics, one of them just wrote 'boycott cola' - my reply: 'All cola? How about Pepsi Max? Is that okay? Their adverts are definitely gay. Which is the best fizzy drink to end homophobia?' Surprisingly, he never got back to me.

Just going to point out a couple of things - 1. Boycotting Coke will not change the Russian government. 2. The Winter Olympics are on now, the BBC are showing it and there is a UK team competing, it's too late for Coca-Cola to withdraw it's sponsorship and finally 3. By all means, don't purchase it in the supermarket, but when someone offers you a vodka and Coke in the pub, please say 'yes please' immediately pissing all over your self righteous boycott, you dumb hypocritical goldfish brained freaks.

The IOC is an absolutely foul bunch of hypocrites handing out respectability to horrible regimes willy nilly. And then making the assinine defence that if they consider themselves neutral thenthat's good enough.
But the time to protest is months or years in advance.
As it is the BBC meekly accepting that they would have to buy IOC footage of the games in London, was an example of the IOC forcing governments to spend pointless billions.
An apparent act of hubristic rage ever since the LA Olympics were run at a profit.

About the only time the IOC made a political statement was when then they stripped athletes medals away in the Mexico Olympics for making black power salutes.

When Beijing was announced as the 2008 host city, I couldn't believe it. Talk about lack of human rights, especially for homosexuals, yet they got a free pass. Similarly, Qatar have got the World Cup in 2022 where homosexuality is illegal.

I think the Russian Winter Olympics was an easy target, very few people watch it anyways, so boycotting doesn't impact your day. When gays call for a boycott of Apple products and coffee shops, then we'll see just how rainbow coloured everyone's values are.

All this crap about actor Hoffman.

Never heard of him and if he took drugs, tough shit.

Sorry, but the word 'drugs' nettles me; especially in this context.

Taking 'Drugs' can cover activities as harmless as chewing a mildly-stimulating East African leaf, to intravenous injection of heroin.

However, getting shit-faced on booze, or taking certain "pharmaceuticals", seems to dodge the negative label.

It wouldn't be "tough shit" if an occasional pot smoker died (and, to be frank, they wouldn't). However, I agree that any first-time heroin user must be aware of the risks from legitimate and reliable sources, rather than mere blanket government propaganda.

Heroin killed PSH, not the hundreds of basically safe (if used correctly) 'drugs' it always finds itself grouped together with.

Ironically, morphine is safe when administered correctly, and people can be clinically addicted to it for decades without any of the ill effects that you get with something really dangerous, like alcohol.

As is heroin - the problem is not knowing the strength of the dose. It was also reported that he was using a heroin substitute as well, that was even stronger.

I'm not a huge supporter of anything intravenous.

At least through oral methods (be it pills, booze etc.), your body has the ability to reject it and you'll throw-up before enough of it can be absorbed.

If anything goes straight into the bloodstream, it's in.

Anyway if, say, mdma was as dangerous as I'm always told, I (along with scores of other friends and acquaintances) would be dead*

* Long-term effects? Who the hell knows, but something shouldn't be banned when we don't know either-way. I'm more than happy to have been a guinea pig in that regard. Let's see...
