It wasn't me, but I do remember being a teenager and stealing some lights from outside someone's house. The children of said house came running out shouting "DAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDD! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDD! THEY'RE SMASHING THE LIGHTS!". I look back upon it and laugh now, but it seemed quite serious at the time.

They were nice enough. Sad thing is they probably only nicked them for the wire.
What for a few ounces of copper
I think copper theft should get a premium sentencing if caught, it encourages people to be so antisocial

It can also be very dangerous.

what caused that explosion
Attempting to steal copper wiring from overhead cable, power cable dropped down touching the house, the electricity found its way to the gas pipes, and boom.
