;) I have not been travelling by bus or train but have read 2 chapters of a book, is this odd?

He wears hats indoors. DEAL BREAKER.

Hehe. Always the sign of a secret receder.

Laughing out loud True! I started an Alistear Crowley but it made me feel ill.

I was looking forward to cool weather here in mountainous Denver, but today's forecast is 100 degrees and I have to spend several hours at an outdoor concert. Boo.

I just checked the forecast and learned that it will be 106F/41C at home when I return. Double boo.

What you need is a nice ladies fan* to waft at yourself.

Amusing? they'd seem a bit Ed Gein to me.

Ed Gein's a pretty amusing fella.

I was always amused by how a murderer who skinned his victims and turned them into leather goods.

Had a surname that rhymed with sewing machine.

TTPYO: Art buffs. Where's the sense of humour, bros?

Usually only very serious and/or sombre work is thought to be significant in fine art, which might be why the artform of comedy is not generally considered to be that important.

Far easier to win Oscars with something like Schindler's List than with Life of Brian.

I think I've been to a Forbidden Planet, a few times. Is there only one, or several?

Apparently there are quite a few now, in the UK and abroad.

And that list doesn't even include the London one.

<later>

Pah, the search facility of that Forbidden Planet website is crap.

It's the major UK scifi chain, except in parts of the north there's another chain called Travelling Man.

Who used to be a lot funkier.

Even Boro has a forbidden Planet. Travelling Man seems to be more anime and manga, or is that just the Newcastle one?

Originally it was an independent RPG chain but they expanded out into comics and books.

Definitely less range than Forbidden Planet.

Yeah they still have a lot of RPGs. Hiding in the back like shady pornos.
