OK, I have come up with the best sitcom moment of the 90s is the episode of The Thin Blue Line entitled Come On You Blues.

When the entire cast is in the back of the van at the beginning of the episode. That is the finest example of a sitcom that I have ever seen! It is perfect.

Ah, The Thin Blue Line! The scene with the riot gear is fantastic.

Yes! probably even funnier than the van scene. I like the van scene because it gives everyone in the ensemble lines.

But the scene with the riot gear was a riot.

'Bugger off, bugger off, stupid pratt'

'If you don't move along, boom boom. I will stick this baton, boom boom. Where the sun don't shine, boom boom.'

And my favourite, P.C. Goody:

'The only difference between you lot, and a bucket of sick...The bucket!'

Found it on YouTube:

'prepare to intimidate enemy with rhythmic beating: Patty cake, patty cake, bakers man' :D

What is one of your favourite episodes?

Couldn't possibly choose. All have elements of greatness.

And why does this board edit my posts when I spell "favourite" without a 'U'?

Because you spell it incorrectly. ;)

Is it not "pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man"?

My wife actually pointed out that it was 'pat-a-cake' to me as well.

I type with an American accent, I suppose. I studied history in college and I read a lot of books written by Englishmen and whenever I tried to cite words like 'humour' or 'realise' with the British variation the auto-correct function on my Word program automatically corrected me. So I have Microsoft on my side, at least.
