Nervous Blogger!

Hi there,

Only the second time I have posted on here. I have been writing a script about a guy who is horribly uncomfortable in social situations. He over analyses every little detail and looks at social conventions and why we behave the way we do. He is basically a real loser! He then comments on all of these on his blog.

The idea is that there are various stories running through the scripts and 'things' happen to him - all of these 'things' are then material for his blog. I have created the blog and I am hoping that it can become a real online experience as opposed to just being limited to television. The audience that read the blog will then comment on his posts and will help drive the shows stories.

For an example please check: http://thenewsandme.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/lift-etiquette/ - in the script the character (Matt) has seen a work colleague come out of the lift looking flustered and nervous. In the show Matt speaks to the character who has come out of the lift who fills him on his horrendous journey up 5 floors in the lift.

In the blog Matt then adapts the story, takes it to a slightly bigger extreme and replaces the other character with himself as though it has happened to him. Throughout the show we see Matt, his best mate Stan and other become victims of horrible social moments - through the blog (and via the show) Matt analyses these and ends up loathing himself and the world he lives in..

Would love to see what you guys thing of this particluar blog post (http://thenewsandme.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/lift-etiquette/) be honest but if you can keep it constructive as I appreciate some people may hate it but I want to improve as a writer and I want to be funnier so any help you can me would be great. Also point out if there is anything you do find funny about it (unlikely!).

thanks

Steve
