Big Lebowski is a fave, Fargo is ace, No Country For Old Men is brilliant (no soundtrack, I love that).
Because of the strange characters in there films they are bound to amuse in so many differnt ways.

Lebowski is just brilliant. They should make a sequel, or do a film about him when he was young.
Big Lebowski and Fargo are my favs but their recent output has been very disappointing, excluding No Country For Old Men. Haven't seen A Serious Man yet. The more I see of Clooney in their films, the more I want to slap him and maybe them.
This might be heresy but "No Country For Old Men" was dull, dull, dull, personally I can't see what all the fuss was about.
Then again I recently watched "Barton Fink" and thought that was pretty cack as well (although it did have some inspired moments but not enough to save the film overall).
No mention of Raising Arizona? Probably my favourite, though Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, The Big Liebowski andO Brother Where Art Thou all shine.

Raising Arizona, good call Timbo! The wedding scene is one of my favourite things.

Nah that ain't no heresy. I tend to agree.
For a while it's very exciting. Then not so.
Although as much as I love Fargo, I still think Blood Simple is their best.
Oooh I'd forgotten "Raising Arizona", brilliant film, certainly up there with their best.

I only just got to see it, and I found the first 2/3rd really exciting, but after Moss died I couldn't find anything to like. What was I missing in the last section?
I can't remember any of that movie.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? is still my favourite. It has the most amazing soundtrack and really revived bluegrass music here.

Agreed.
Last night during the football game I mentioned that the Coens were remaking "True Grit" and my friend's brother became unglued. He's probably still ranting.
Ladykillers for me.

That was I felt about it as well. Presumably the ending was faithful to the book, but as cimema it simply didn't work.

It will be interesting to see what the Coen brothers do with the ending of this one. The original is scrupulously faithful to the book apart from the ending, which they quite sensibly, and sensitively, altered to make it more filmic.
