Which profession

I have an idea for a sketch set in court. Is the person who questions the Defendant a Lawyer or a Barrister? Or does it not really matter?

It appears to not really matter..... according to Google
or it depends on which side of the pond you are on

Hope this helps

Can be a barrister or a solicitor sometimes - they are both lawyers.

Coolio. Lawyer seems to cover it. Thank you indeed.

Two bits of info that might help:

Barristers are lawyers who have special training for high court work. They are the only class of lawyer who have the right to be heard in Crown courts or higher (although the defendant can represent themselves in person if they wish). Barristers are regulated by their own professional body - the Bar Council.

A lawyer knows how to fleece you. A barrister really knows how to fleece you.

But he makes damn good coffee.

Lawyer = Vodka
Barrister = Absinth
?

You can get good coffee cheaper at Costa :)

But then you'd remember everything
