I couldn't give a monkeys nuts about the EU. What good does it do us really? It has made the UK turn into a carbon copy of every other country almost. Its the reason why we are overun with Europeans and it overturns our laws whenever it wants.

On the other hand - if we got out of the EU we wouldn't be able to enter the Eurovision.

Well as Fella points out 80% of exports and those at a massively favorable rate. All the money we send the EU is like a club membership in an exclusive rich boys club. Not to mention the other 20% benefits hugely from us being inside. Why do you think everyone aside from the actual super powers want in on Europe ?(well and Russia but they're odd).

Thanks to the EU being actually an incredibly feeble organisation. We get all the manifold benefits of being in a huge trading alliance with no issues about having to commit to defence etc.

And as for legislation. Sorry but piad holidays and workers rights. The EU courts have been giving us what our government what our government has been incapable of for years. Don't hate a friend when your own friend can't tkae care of you.

Considering how disliked Labour is at the moment, and how unpopular Gordon Brown is, if the Tories don't get a 600 seat majority it's going to look like failure.

80% of our exports are within the EU.

We don't really want to lose those do we?

Precisely. The only reason anyone would build a factory in the UK is because we have one of the least protected labour forces in the EU, but with access EU markets.

Gordon keeps telling us that there are a million Brits working in Europe. So if we kick out the europeans then we get our million back. Hence in the same position anyway in terms of jobs.

I am not convinced about that figure. But we might have to take our pensioners back from the Costa del Sol.

So, you DO care about the EU - just not for it positively!

Yes we would - Eurovision is nothing to do with the European Union whatsoever.

Who says that we would? It's true that the EU is generally a damaging, closed trade organisation to those countries not within it, but trade agreements do exist just fine. Switzerland and Norway operate without EU meddling and they seem to get on alright, as far as I'm aware. It's not like Japan, South Korea, China, etc, are exactly struggling to do business with us either. Withdrawal from the EU wouldn't mean we could never have any kind of contact with them again!

There are far more than a million (known) EU immigrants in the UK.

I think I was half mixing up getting out of Europe altogether. That way we couldn't be in Eurovision and that would be a tragedy.

True that we got NMW and other rights, but if we got out of the EU now I doubt our government would be allowed to get rid of such things. They would get lynched.

Plus they would be allowed to finally hang Gary Glitter

Eh? Eurovision has NOTHING to do with the European Union. Eurovision is run by the European Broadcasting Union, a completely separate organisation. The EBU is headquartered in Switzerland, which is not a member of the EU. They're two entirely different and unrelated things.

Could we stay in the EU and pull out of the EBU?

But surely you have to be in Europe itself to be in Eurovision?

No. As I said above, the EU and EBU are entirely unrelated.

Israel isn't.

Well that's a pile of shit, I'm dissolusioned (sic?) now.

I thought it was exclusive to Europe :(

Oh well Worldovision it is then. Or Earthavision

I'm never trusting anyone again.

I threatened to my Mum that I'd vote BNP (though I never would).

I considered voting Green but it would just waste the vote.

Think it has to be Liberal Democrats

I would say that's another wasted vote lol.

Better than Labour being in charge though.

If Nick Clegg gets more votes it would wipe the smug grin off Gordon Frowns face.

Have you not seen any of the polls? :)

I'd say Labour might be more the wasted vote.

Yes I was joking really.

Clegg seems okay but I still don't think they will win.
