You obviously don't get a train to work. The two most widely read 'newspapers' on trains into central London (Blackfriars and Cannon Street) are the Sun and The Daily Mail.

Well apart from the Metro and the Standard...

But on my line I would say you see as many broadsheets as anything as tabloids.

I disagree. The Sun are only ultimately interested in supporting the winner. Yes, they are right-leaning and predisposed towards the Tories, but at the end of the day they're shallow enough only to want to be on the side of the victors.

Absolutely right, Chip. Be interesting to see how The Sun and Murdoch react if the Tories don't win.

Actually, when you talk about the Sun you are only really talking about the Murdochs and News International. They have no desire to be 'on the side of the winner', they want to take the BBC's Markets for their Sky company.

Yeah, by backing the winner. There's no denying that they're an extremely powerful organ, and the drip drip drip of negative stories can arguably swing an election. Or at least have a sizeable influence. The 1992 anti-Kinnock campaign certainly didn't do Labour any favours in 1992, when they really should have won the election.

If you owned this website, Chip, the comedy content would gradually be edged out by pictures of tits.

I'm actually more a leg man. And necks. I like a good neck.

Who is the current lady Chip?

Who is the current lady Chip?

In my avatar? Lana Turner. An actress from the golden age of Hollywood.

Playing around with one of the Beebs's election doo-dahs I found that it's possible for the Tories and Labour to get 21.8% and 16.5% of the vote respectively and not get a single seat.

I bet they'd want proportional representation then

Mightily impressed by the "Get Clegg" campaign now running in the British press.

Given the effort that has gone into digging up dirt on him, he is coming out of it rather well; very foolish of the Tories to associate themselves with the expenses allegations. I suspect all this will backfire and voters will see it for the desperate smear campaign that it is.

Laughing out loud

(Tempting ... very tempting.)

Gordon started with a smile again. He must have idiots in charge of his campaign.

Clegg just dropped the paedo bomb!

You'd think the Labour Party would play more on Gordon Brown's initials.
