General Election 2010 Page 37

As far as the two main parties are concerned the Tories are probably more evil than Labour but possibly more competent (though I doubt it, they are cut from much the same cloth).

The real reason for voting out Labour is that they are wed to perpetuating failing policies because their credibility depends on it. Anyone new gets to make a fresh start. The trick is to rotate parties at elections, so that there is a constant refreshing of ideas, but no-one becomes entrenched long enough to do any irreversible harm. History would have remembered Blair much more kindly if he had only had the one term.

Oh yeah, it's easy to forget just how popular he was during those first four years. He could do no wrong. Then 9/11 came along and things started to change.

I agree. No party has held the White House for more than 12 straight years in my lifetime and that's fine with me. Obama's almost certain to lose the next election and pollsters predict that his party will lose up to 50 seats in Congress this November. Things have a way of working themselves out.

If Obama loses the next presidential election then America will enter the era of one term presidents. Which would be entertaining.

There have been 10 presidents in my lifetime and only 3 of them have served two full terms.

Could Labour honestly still win?

Unfortunately.

I genuinely think we could get a hung parliament now. Cameron's problem now is that he'd positioned himself as Mr Change, but Clegg stole his thunder in the debate. And if the Tories don't wipe out the Lib Dems in the south then they're f**ked in terms of an overall majority.

There's a good chance that Labour could come third in this election and Brown still cling on to power Mugabe-like.

Or he might just win enough votes and win fair and square.

For all the bitch' 'bout Brown. Cameron comes across as shallow, not in control of his party and generally a Lidl Blair.

It's easy to forget what a powerful machine New Labour was or how immensley charismatic Blair was.

I was watching a programme with him in earlier this evening. I'd forgotten just how slimy and obnoxious he was. It amazes me to this day that anyone fell for it.

Well they're falling for Cameron (at least some are)

Sootyj says don't vote for anypne ypu'd f**k. cos they'll f**k you.

The reason people fell for Blair was that he was genuinely sincere. Which is to say that he had the salesman's (and lawyer's) trick of believing whatever it suited him to believe. And like all true salesman he was immensely gullible, which is why he was so easily manipulated by charlatans like Bush.

Cameron is far more intelligent than Blair, which is why he comes across as so slimey. He does not believe his bullshit either.

Could be onto somehing there, Timbo.

I'm beginning to wonder if a hung Parliament wouldn't actually be the best outcome for the Conservatives now. It'd be unlikely to get much done, certainly wouldn't last very long, and probably allow them to build up support in the meantime.

Of course, it's the very last thing Labour want, as there's no way in hell they could afford to fight another election campaign.

Maybe all male candidates should have to have a picture of their genitals on the ballot paper to ensure we have a well hung parliament ?

Don't know about the female ones . . biggest twats mayhap ?

Oh I do lol ever so: http://order-order.com/2010/04/17/journalism-for-billionaires-by-billionaires/
