I only saw the last 30 minutes but I heard the 30 before that on the radio. Did I hear correctly that Brown said they would have a referendum on election reform if they got back in? If he did is that a clever way of encouraging votes now and getting into bed with the LibDems if there's a hung parliament?

Yes, that's something that Labour suddenly plucked out of thin air a couple of months ago.
Interesting. Just watched the last 10 minutes (which I managed to miss on broadcast), and I thought Cameron actually really pulled it around. Definitely a vastly superior summing up - and what a laugh when they weren't sure what they were meant to be doing as the titles rolled.
Sounds like you're clutching at straws a bit, Aaron. The summing up bit was obviously pre-prepared. Cameron seemed a bit lost throughout the rest of it when he had to be more spontaneous. He started off strangely as well. When they went to the leaders, Cameron looked like a shop dummy staring into the middle distance.
Pre-prepared or not, it was still vastly superior! I'm not re-arguing his performance through the debate proper, or that of Brown or Clegg, but he definitely left it on a higher note. (As I've since seen commented on TV and online too.)
When the debates between the candidates are televised in the UK, do you get a "worm" (line graph) on the screen, showing whether a hand-picked bunch of people are reacting favourably or negatively to the statements of each candidate?

I was watching the debate with my dad and we both said that Cameron's closing remarks was far superior to either Clegg or Brown's closing remarks.
I think people would have already made up their minds by the end, though. And I'd imagine a lot had turned off long before the summing up. I did, because it overran and I wanted to catch the start of Charlie Brooker on C4.

No, not during it, but most channels had done so and were showing their wormgraphs in the various post-debate analysis programmes.

Probably true. It'll be interesting to see how the third turns out, and what the viewing figures are for them.
...And immediately after typing that, I hear that almost 10 millionn watched last night.
I like The Sun's coverage. According to them Cameron took the fight to Brown and saw him off.

Typical Murodch sleaze
The Sun has officially dropped Labour, so the hacks will be shining up all their old Kinnock jokes.

It's just weird watching them fawn all over Cameron because he's really not that impressive on any level. Blair 97 - who he's modeled on - was much more impressive.
Yeah Cameron is a seedless dick. Clegg is also a tedious twat. The moment in the televised discussion where he did an aside to the audience about it being hard to tell the difference between Brown and Cameron when they were arguing was particularly annoying. According to Newsnight, that moment caused a surge in Lib Dem support, which proves what most of us know already that people are largely too ignorant to vote.
The 'all the same' mantra is one of the most dangerous slogans bandied around in political discussions and it's deplorable for a party leader to use a slogan that discourages analysis and thought.

To be fair Blair benifited from the right time.
There doesn't seem be that about at the moment.
