Oh, and the moderator's shit.

:O

Oh, you mean on the telly thing.

Can we see one of these with the Greens, BNP and I dunno UKIP.

It would be freaking hilarious.

:D Definitely would love to see that!

As for tonight's debate ... Meh. A bit dull on the whole. I'd say that Clegg probably gained more from the night; not won - I don't think that any of them 'won' - but gained, in so far as people now know he exists (and 12 of them might not have forgotten already). Cameron did a mostly fair job, but the terrible moderator's interjections and the way he was throwing response opportunities around, worked against him. Brown was forceful, but too often felt desperate and almost bitter, attacking rather than debating. I also thought he seemed less connected, far less like he was actually listening, and rather just rattling off memorised lines and quips as the opportunities came.

Prediction for next week: Cameron will have upped his game, Brown and Clegg will be much the same, but the latter more with a bit more confidence.

And nobody will be watching cos it's on Sky.

There's another one?

Bad mistake by Gordon to attempt humour; most politicians don't have the timing to deliver scripted jokes. It just comes across as forced and phoney. Though admittedly Gordon was nowhere near as embarrassing as Maggie, who always appeared not to understand the jokes she was making.)

Very true.

There's another one?

There are three! Next week's is on Sky News, and in 2 weeks on BBC One.

Also to be noted is of course it was only the first week - whilst no one will watch #2, the third will be interesting as they should be settled in by then AND have the audience.

(I think John Sargeant just put it pretty well on Question Time, in that Cameron didn't do as well as he should have done.)

Yes, that's why I think he's the loser. Brown actually did a bit better than expected, I thought. Clegg was favourite to win anyway so no surprise he seems to be winning the polls. The biggest mystery to me is why the big two parties agreed to the whole thing in the first place because they were always likely to lose some ground to the Lib Dems.

I don't think that the others did quite so well (well, certainly not El Gordo) that Cameron lost, but yeah, I get your meaning. It'll be interesting to see how the papers are spinning it in the morning; consensus amongst all of the polls quoted so far is that Brown came out the loser.

Sadly it looks like he lost but had made a massive effort to win.

Poor f**ker was probably up half the night practising smiling and memorising his jokes.

Ashdown just owned Hague.

I reckon we've got another 4 years of Brown.

Cameron sounded like he'd been on a zoological tour of the working classes.

He shouldn't do jokes and he shouldn't smile. Why his spindoctors haven't sorted that out by now I have no idea.

Some weedy kid on Question Time just criticised Cameron for NOT smiling. Forgive me, but I don't like my politicians to be chuckling and smirking away during a serious debate.

(And yes, Gordon Brown really needs to do WHATEVER is necessary to stop from doing those inane grins.)

Makes up for crying off from LCW.

Please don't say that.

I don't think I could take 4 more years of Brown.
