I f**king hope not.

She isn't establishment or "new" labour is she.

Of course she won't get in because she won't have the MP or union support.

Did she do bad things to you as a child, Nil? :(

Wow. Light the blue touch paper and watch Nil go.

I think she might come across well the Labour party membership.

Yes, I think she might get quite a bit of support. I don't at the moment think that she will win though. And I hope she doesn't win, because that would mean a change to This Week.

But I've heard comment that her win would be best for the Conservatives, so...

Wrong!

I know you are, but what am I?

:P

I don't know, I just know I don't like her. She seems smarmier than most.

She IS a bit mixed up, she started out on the hard left, became noticed for her ability to talk to a camera AND the little matter of her being a black woman, ticking two vital boxes for New Labour, then traded in her once radical socialist views for the sell out, joining the old club option, soon taking her kids out of state school and into a nice private one, when she was supposed to be championing state run, mixed schools!

So bizarrely, far from Blair having to demote her for being too Old Labour and left wing, as some warned he would, he had to demote her instead for being too mercenary, self serving, sort of ultra Conservative in style. Now she wants to make us think she's really the Old Labour lefty once again in a race where all the others are New Labour white males. She really is one of the cheekiest politicians ever to have lived.

She's not cheekier than Harvey Proctor.

As for the private school thing. That was startilingly honest and human. I like my politicians a little bit human, selfish and corrupt. Probably her son wasn't a high watt bulb and needed some more help. A mum who left him to flail would be infinitely more sinister.

But she's been kinda dull and anemic, a pointless backbench seat filler. She was compared to Galloway in the Guardian, which seems a faily damning inditement.

But frankly who gives a shit who runs post defeat Lab? They'll be gone in 2 years or less anyway.

Labor ressembles a collection of village idiots fighting for the captain's hat on the deck of the Titanic.

Or it was blatantly hypocritical? I don't think honesty had a thing to do with it did it, it was all down to money and opportunity. She couldn't afford to send him private before she became a minister, but when she could afford to she was seriously compromised because she was an education minister, brought in to spout on about mixed race state education - taking her kid out of this system sent the opposite message and Harman did the same thing. These hypocrites were found out because of ther disgusting opportunism and lack of faith to the cause they were paid very well to champion!

Politics is the art of hypocracy. Most of these MPs get their kids into decent schools; private, faith or grammar.

Don't want that?

Vote for a poof, paedo or jaffa.
