Newsjack - Series 2 Page 7

I've got tickets to the recording but it depends on how the weather is you know how London transport gets with a bit of light sleet.

Dagnabbit. Just got mine off but now I've seen Cowards has got his in so there was literally no point. GLUM. :)

I wouldn't say that, my hit ratio for "Watson's Windup" was appalling and I can't see it being much higher for this.

For some reason I struggle with topically themed jokes, if only there was a show that just wanted (a poor man's) Milton Jones/Tim Vine style puns and one-liners, then I'd be sorted!

Vox pops not so important -- mostly sketches that it applies to.

Dan

Ah right, cheers.

True. I'm really enjoying your relentless Twitter gags.

(though I had that mermaid one weeks ago ;) )

Oops apologies. It's one I thought about during the Copenhagen summit and then forgot about it until today when I was trying to get some stuff together for Newsjack.

I'm finding Twitter quite a good incentive to write jokes every day, even if most of them are pretty duff, occasionally I'll turn out something that is usable in one form or another.

I'm currently rewriting my stand up set and a lot of the better tweets are making their way in there, albeit in edited forms.

I'll post mine after Thursday. Not sure what the T&C are with using jokes that have already been posted on the web etc. I'm sure it's nothing serious and they don't have time to check it out anyway.

It's probably best not to post your material on the web until after the broadcast.

I agree 100% and am entirely happy to comply with the T&Cs of the BBC (if anybody from there happens to be reading this).

Too late Marooned, I've already told on you. :P

"BBC T&Cs:

Submitted material may be prone to refusal if posted on the web before broadcast and those responsible are liable to be told on by big meanies."

:D

I was thinking more of the (slim) chance that, if they see your submitted material already online, they might think it's "old news", as I'm sure they'd prefer brand spanking new unseen stuff.

That's what I'm about!

Mikey, did you send material in this week?

I've just sent off some vox pops but I forgot to include page numbers. There's only one page though, will it matter?

Yes, they'll probably print it out and then toss it on a fire. That'll learn 'ya.

Any chance you mean a creative fire?

Yeah, I sent in one sketch and a handful of vox pops.

I also sent in a "Miles link", i.e. an (alledgedly) amusing gag that they could (hopefully) slot in between other material.
