However, given the choice between our children marrying within our own race or outside it, I suspect more than a few might feel other than indifferently about the matter.

I think you're *waaayyy* off the mark with that comment mate.

Maybe replace "race" with "culture" and you might have a point.

I certainly wouldn't want any daughter of mine marrying a Radio Three listener.

Are there any Radio Three listeners?

Quote: Griff @ December 18 2009, 12:09 PM GMT

Probably not the marrying kind.

Talking of snobbish old queens, did anyone see that BBC Four Storyville documentary on Nicky Haslam? Hilarious. :)

I'd watch/listen to any panel show with Brian Sewell as host, with David Starkey and Nicky Haslam as team captains. (Or if Nicky's too busy, Sir Roy Strong.) :)

I'm a bit embarrassed that I don't know who Nicky Haslam is.

It's very common not to know who Nicky Haslam is. He's an interior designer, aesthete and party-goer, who has spent most of his life meeting famous people. I didn't know a lot about him until I saw the documentary, which was very good. Craig Brown did a very good parody of him in one of his Private Eye 'Diaries'. The man has his own bizarre and somewhat inconsistent ideas of what should be classed as "common". :)

That's so common.

18 The average BCGer always deviates from a thread.
19 The avergae BCGer is probably from London or Wales. Which is nice for the Welsh ones.

I met him at a fashion thing, he gave me an up and down, looked at my name tag - considered my surname (which had been misspelt and therefore the same as a high profile family of socialites) for a bit and then decided to blank me!

He was probably intimidated by your raw fashion talent.

Ha! No, I was wearing a Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress and a vintage 40s hat. He just realised I was a nobody and not worth acknowledging.

It never fails to impress me how so many women can remember what they were wearing on specific days, possibly years previously.

I've been to a fair few fashion shows and I'm pretty certain I was wearing jeans for all of them, but that's about the extent of it.

I have just watched an interview with Nicky Hasslam what a dick.

Basically; I knew some famous people, they're now dead, I'm not I will talk about them.

I hope his coke dealer or pimp stab him to death and piss on his corpse.

It was about 10 years ago! I only remember that event because I have some photos and it was an evening award event rather than a show or press launch. :)

In all honesty, I have no idea what this is.
