But did they use the words 'knockers'?
Big Top critical and forum reaction Page 15
Not as I recall. I like to think I would distinctly recall snotting with laughter so, no, they didn't.
Bastards.

No mints for Ben.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ December 15 2009, 11:48 AM GMTTo sum up: most people didn't like Big Top because they were bitter, but some could have expressed their dislike and disappointment better, giving reasons of what they didn't like and understanding that some people might like this show for those very same reasons.
Isn't it also that we should be supportive of new writers, giving them kudos even if we don't personally like the show?
Quote: Griff @ December 15 2009, 11:39 AM GMTYou were looking for a single coherent outcome?
I was - unless that's a euphemism for something. And I have to pay.
Quote: Rob H @ December 15 2009, 12:50 PM GMTI watched the second episode (the first wasn't on there) on i-player today. In it's defence I'd like to add that it's not as bad as a sitcom starring Amanda Holden could have been.
Kiss Me Kate was really good.
Dan
If it's snobbish to dislike bad comedy, then, yes, I am a snob.
I think it's great that any studio sitcoms are made and shown at prime-time, but one can't help ones taste, can one.
Quote: Griff @ December 15 2009, 12:19 PM GMTWell he responded directly to Renegade so it didn't seem right to barge in.
But Micheal if you are still following this increasingly insane thread, your insight into how comedy commissioning works was much appreciated.
And I didn't like to barge into your discussion! Aren't we all very polite...
I'm not.
I'm saying nothing.
That's Marc!
So has anything changed because of this? Argh. So many times we have pages and pages of discussion and yet not one person changes their opinion or actions. I need closure. For just one thread. Please.

Quite a lot's changed.
We had 12 pages of near-universal negativity re Big Top and Micheal Jacob's remarks about aspiring writers then MJ pops his head around the door and all negativity ceases and is followed by page after page of cheery banter as everyone tries to look innocent.
We should send MJ to Afghanistan.
The Taliban would come to heel immediately,
I thought I'd hate it, but actually thought it was just 'meh'.

That's the quote for the DVD cover sorted at least.
