Carry On Laughing (1975)

Just thought I'll start up a thread on the Thames Television spin-off series from the more famous Carry On films.

Who's seen them and what's your thoughts on them?

The lack of Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtrey makes them seem a little stale at times although it does raise the odd laugh here and there.

Some are quite good, but others are terrible. Really could have done with Sid James being in a lot more of them, and Kenneth Williams too - but the biggest problem is the lack of Talbot Rothwell's pen.

I ploughed through them when they were shown on ITV6 or some such a few years back. It was grim work.

I really can't distinguish them from the films. Not by quality or anything, just that during a bank holiday I'll watch a Carry On, any Carry On. If that makes sense?

I was actually craving a Carry On last night.

I like most of the Carry Ons, but I can't sit through these. They are on the DVDs as extra features and I just don't like them at all.

I think the series would have faired better with a lot more of the regulars.

Well, here's me dragging up an even older thread this time. :D

Still rotating/working my way through my large box set and needing half hour to fill, filled it with this filler I found of "The Prisoner Of Spenda" from this TV series.

Nothing to get excited about, but an interesting comedy from a series I have no recollection of.
