A rather ... interesting comparison there! Where did LotSW come from?!
Under-rated sitcoms Page 3
Yorkshire weren't it lad? Tha' knows.
I didn't mean LOTSW as an underrated sitcom. It's just every time I think of Still Game then I think now that is a real comedy about pensioners. LOTSW, IMO, belongs in the past along with Terry and June.
OOoo, right, ok. Yeah. I understand the link now!
And I must admit to liking Terry and June.
Me too!
Funnily enough so do I in a weird sort of way.
But I don't think that it is a show that stands the test of time whereas LOTSW seems to be on all the bleedin' time and I can't says as I'm a fan.
Quote: Dave @ April 18, 2007, 10:25 PMThe third series of Reggie Perrin is being shown at the moment. I've got it on DVD. It's OK to watch once - but it's rather episodic. Has anyone seen The Legacy of Reggie Perrin? I thought it was OK, but a bit morbid since Leonard Rossitor had died ten years previously.
The legacy I thought was a terrible idea; although it seemed to round off the whole saga nicely, and the premise was strong, the whole thing, to me, seemed terribly dated. Like when they make a film with someone who has died and just use clips.
Perrin was of its' time, really, although the issues it covered were eternal.
And John Baron was a great bloke, God rest his soul.
I liked Darkplace. Very funny in places. And Police Squad was superb. There is one which I remember vaguely but I cannot remember the actors or the title. I'll come back to you.
Plot? Characters? Synopsis?
'Nightingales' and 'Shelly' are both seriously underrated sitcoms.

One of the problems with Legacy I thought was that some of those actors ahdn't worked for years. Some were also pretty old by that time. It was always going to be a very tough ask to get them to fill the gap left by Leonard Rossiter.
Oh, yeah, agree about Nathan Barley -- vastly underrated. Also, Respectable on Channel 5.
Dan
I rather enjoyed Respectable (and not for the women).
There is only one reason I watched that show;
I'll admit, it wasn't as bad as it could've been though.
Respectable didn't deserve the negativity it got.
It was very good. There was a different feel about it but I still thought it was very funny (+ the women).
I just liked the women.
