The Culture Show - Sketch comedy

Just watched The Culture Show tonight and there's a terrific feature about filming sketches and uploading them to YouTube, FunnyOrDie, Popcorn Comedy etc. Lots of familiar faces - Richard Herring, Josie Long, Dan Antopolski, Peter Serafinowicz etc.

Repeated tonight on BBC2 at 11.20 and hopefully on iPlayer after that.

(It's also got a great interview with the designer Dieter Rams).

Sounds good. Cheers!

The segment starts at 51 minutes.

Is Josie Long in it much? Because if she is, I won't bother watching.

Cheers Griff, will check it out.

They used a teeny tiny clippette from one of my sketches! I whack someone into a hedge.

Great interviews. Really interesting to hear people's views on on-line comedy.

I'll have to check out that Popcorn thingy that they mentioned.

I'll definitely have a look for this, sounds interesting.
Cheers.

Awesome! I'll have to rewatch and look out for you!

It really is so quick. The stuff about the Popcorn night got my attention. I shall investigate and let you know what I find out!

I believe Robert Popper is regularly involved with that Popcorn night in some way, it gets mentioned on his and Peter Serafinowicz's Twitter pages fairly often.

I think there's a thread about Popcorn already, albeit in the Other British Comedy section, rather than opportunities. Though I suppose it's not really a "writing" opportunity.

Watched that yesteday. Good stuff. That Poporn thingy looks interesting. :)

Popcorn is a wicked night. Great sketches screened live, with a small dollop of stand up is a winning mixture. Also great opportunity if you're making your own video content to see what works.
