Clearly you do not know good content when you see it. The writing is fantastic; indeed, the scenes in the Barlow household are better, and funnier, than 99% of sitcom content on UK television.

I have not been a regular viewer of Coronation Street for some years, though, occasionaly Dawn and I visit our friends Clive and Maureen and the repeats episode is on. Blanche outspoken; granted, but very funny.
She reminded me a lot of my first landlady who was from Manchester.
What was your landlady's name?
I will go so far as to say her forename was Clare. I do not feel comfortable revealing her family name.
