Agony aunts Page 5

You know 'certain substances' can make you lethargic, Leevil - they may be affecting your output? ;)

Dear Auntie BCG,

I have had a major falling out with a good friend over the film Star Trek. He says that it's the best one ever but I ascertain Wrath of Khan is the superior movie.

Being as we're both big fans of Star Trek my question is - what does a woman look like naked?

If anything that gets me going, I love a good smoke in the early hours and to get on with it. It's my most productive time, I think?

Ian has some good ideas, but I don't think that will work. I can't jabber into a dictation machine all the time, I'd just end up doing Alan Partridge impressions.

My problem, apart from the lethargy, is I spend most of my time on here, and not out there, collecting funny observations.

Train set edition is at Christmas.

Surprised, in my experience.

Vulcan women apparently look like this:

Eep. Photoshopped, I assume?

Yes indeedy, here is what she normally looks like - though I'm sure these had a bit of 'shop' action as well.

Dear Carpark,

Ooh that's a tricky one; if you take T'Pol's bottom as seen in Enterprise and mix in the glimpse of 60+ nudey Nichelle Nicols in Star Trek 5 you might get a pretty good idea.

Hope that helps!

Or for the boobies imagine Picard with a cherry on his head standing next to his Mirror Mirror Picard with a cherry on top as well.

I like a bit of final-front-rear myself.

a new Sootyj "worst idea for a movie" thread.

Oh dear God please no.

So many don't seem to though. When I'm working on some music, I continue working on it as soon as I get the chance and am often up till stupidly late because I'm so immersed in it and just can't stop. That's because I love doing it and love spending my time that way. But when I hear so many writers (which I do) looking for tips to get motivated it makes me wonder why they don't just think 'well, maybe I'm just not a writer after all'. Though I can see what zooo is saying.

Famously, Galton and Simpson hate writing, but love having a finished script. Let's be glad that they didn't take that line of thought.

Maybe the lethargy is a knock-on effect? I wouldn't drink if I had hang-overs. And I think you're right about the 'out there' bit. It's amazing just talking to real people and listening to them. :)

*lights up*

Sorry, did you say something? Whistling nnocently

Yes, I always come back with ideas after I've "been out", unlike when I stay in, straining myself to produce some.

It's all good advice and I appreciate it.

I've just plugged in the Singstar mics into the Mac, and hey presto! It worked. Probably not the best way to do an audio sketch, but it's a start.

I'm sticking to sketches at the minute, they don't stress me out.

*looks begrudgingly at the sitcom he started*
