Let's face it, 99% of comedy written by people under 25 is shite. As for people breaking into comedy when 40-plus, Ricky Gervais's career didn't really take off until he was about 40.

Well I'm still hoping to make it and as you all know I'm 97.
It does help to actually do some writing though and I haven't "created" much lately. This should change for the better soon though as I'm currently in a period of transition.
