Pitching "Short Form"

I see there's a year-old thread discussing how to pitch sitcom ideas/scripts.

But has anyone ever had to "pitch" some "short form" comedy. I'm going to be in such a position in a few days and I have no idea what I'll be expected to do.

How does one pitch something that is, for all intents and purposes, a sketch?

Anyone with experience care to share?

Act out the sketch to them, perhaps?

Are you pitching a sketch show or just one sketch?

Kinda defeats the point of a pitch. :P

I've been doing lots of pitching practice. Don't know if this applies to pitching a sketch - but never just describe what happens in the piece, but sell the essence of it. Good luck!

Storyboard it, if you can.

Heh, yeah. I thought he meant he was pitching face to face as opposed to writing it down.

That is what I meant.

Summarise what's funny about the sketch and communicate it as quickly as possible.

That sounds like decent advice.

And this.

Take a sneaky hit of helium before you start the pitch - it will get them laughing from the outset.

It's online. Short form. It could be kinda like a sketch. YouTube with a budget? I'm not entirely certain, to be honest.

I'm pitching a short form at the moment. In my pants.

I don't need helium, my nervousness has the same effect on my voice and the listeners.

Storyboard it, if you can.

Or is this too much effort?

I can't draw to save my life. Not even stick men. :(

I always like to build an architect's model

I'm a pre Raphaelite model man myself.
