Are there ways to limber up for 'being funny'? Page 3

Peter Sellers used to watch Laurel&Hardy films before playing inspector Cleusau, and that seemed to work.

Is it true that when he played that part, Steve Martin prepared by watching 2 pints of Lager?

RE Steve Martin...
I've always wondered what possessed him to attempt to play (and massacre) two of the most iconic comedy parts of the 20th Century ie Clousseau and Bilko?
Do you think it was:
a) The Money
b) Breathtaking vanity
c) Woefully poor advice

Probably all of the above but extraordinary nonetheless.

To limber up, try the Barry Cryer stretch. Go on a talkboard, not this one please, and try to turn anything anyone says into a joke until they actually plead with you to stop. I do this a couple of times a week.
