Big Top Page 16

Well someone in our house liked it but they're only six. They liked Amanda Holden and the clowns because "they're TV clowns and not scary like real ones. The lady clown is nice." They even laughed out loud at the acrobat looking through the caravan window. However, they didn't think it was as good as the show "with the naughty children" (Outnumbered) or Sorry I've Lost My Head and Horrible Histories.

but they cast Amanda Holden.

Laughing out loud

I've just found out that Sophie Thompson, John Thomson and Bruce McKinnon were all in 'Flat Slags' (2004) - it figures.

A thorough enjoyable show. Not as good as Miranda, but which show is? Nontheless, one of the best comedies of the year. Ditto to the Tony Robinson comment.

They are correct!

They did that line 'Remember we talked about what sarcastic means?' or whatever it was. One of those lines Friends did about 10 years ago and for some reason sitcoms still copy now.

I'd just like to say to all writers out there who have submitted a sitcom to Writersroom and have watched this pile of shit actually get to the screen that the mass suicide meet is 7.30pm on top of The Gherkin on Saturday.

Bring a friend.

It'll be funnier than Big Top I guarantee.

Not from me you don't!

Not from me you don't!

You would say that.

The first episode of this even had the 'kill a circus/go for the juggler' gag squeezed in.

Definitely one to watch outside your caravan on a knackered portable while your kids break up car batteries with an axe.

Again I got bored of it. Won't be bothering again.

Big Top may not be in much danger of joining the all-time sitcom greats but it's colourful, it's cheap as chips to make and it's jam-packed with jokes.

It's not the worst commissioning decision the BBC has ever made.

Not by a long way.

I'm struggling to think of a worse BBC comedy and quite frankly I just can't. Even Last of the Summer Wine was good to begin with. Nope this IS the worst sitcom commissioned by the BBC. Quite a coup that. Well done BBC well done!
