A number of Brits have quite pompously pointed out that American remakes of British shows are just not on.
Of course British remakes of total American tat such as Jerry Springer are in no way hypocritical, especially as we are much more intelligent, cultured, etc. in this country and our television stations would never stoop so low as to create ratings chasing bollox.

I remember being equally disappointed to find out that 80s British soap 'Triangle' was filmed on a boat.
I never got The Simpsons.
