Sitcoms that end with the cast revealing they... Page 2

Yeah, I think a few American shows did, now you mention it. It's possibly an old sitcom convention dating back to the first TV sitcoms like I Love Lucy and HHH. They were very artificial in the early days and were centred around a real personality...there's another one that did it I think - The Phil Sivers Show. Maybe it is an American import then...interesting.

Yes it did!

What, in the regular credits?

OK, they weren't waving, but they did stand there looking vaguely embarrassed...

What, in the regular credits?

In the opening credits - at least in the earliest seasons - a record would spin and the center label would be replaced by a few seconds' footage of each main actor smiling to the camera, while their name was captioned. The Fonze would give two thumbs up.

EDIT: Even up to Season 10: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDKC_reGEBw

Oh yes, I was forgetting all that.

I'm going to pop off and put my head through a window in utter shame.

Actually, no I'm not. That would be a over-reaction.

...interesting.

Is it? really?

Is it? really?

Well, everything's "relative", as they say! :) ("They" being gits like me, of course.)

The Upper Hand started with the cast freezing and their names appearing on the screen with them

Didn't Big Train feature the cast at the end looking at the camera? And possibly smiling, although I might be wrong on that.

*crosses fingers* In a 'Hans Solo' kind of way? :)

Basically anything involving David Croft...

Hi De Hi, 'Allo 'Allo, Oh Mr Beeching, You Rang, M'Lord etc... :)

Yes, all the Croft shows did it then, as I now remember It Aint Arf Hot Mum ending with that incredibly annoying little cursor ball thing bobbing along the words of the theme tume, but did thy wave? Can't really remember that - thank God Dad's Army is the one Croft exception, then - can you imagine Capt.Maiwearing waving to the camera?!

Definitely wrong. They cast did feature in the opening credits, as a group picture in a frame on the wall.

And didn't the end credits of To The Manor Born feature Audrey FFrobes Hamilton
wanking off a stoat? Or did I imagine that?

:D

No, that's spot on. :|

The opening credits to The Good Life very briefly shows Richard Briers rimming Felicity Kendall's lovely bottom as well...

And The Goodies episode Almost Live ended with the trio singing the theme song on stage while the credits ran - and every performer's name was captioned as they performed. Bill Oddie's music writing partner Dave MacRae looks like quite a cool guy:
