A friend went to see his banjo ensemble play at the Festival Hall the other week and said he was brilliant, chatting and making quips between the songs.

Let's not forget Cheaper By The Dozen 2. Even better than Cheaper By The Dozen.

:)

The man has done a lot of crap.

A shameful amount. I still think he's one of the greatest comedians of all time though. I have one of his live LPs framed on my living room wall.

Agreed...if only somebody could have shot him in about 1992, though. Whistling nnocently

His books are decent though.

I haven't read any. Like with Mark Pearson, I'm waiting for them to be discounted...

On his films, I do quite like him in David Mamet's The Spanish Prisoner, where he plays a conman. It's not a comedy, but it's a pretty good film.

Yeah, I like 'em.

The Spanish Prisoner is fantastic.

I did enjoy his appearance on Jools Holland. If anyone's interested it's repeated on Friday.

I really like his books too. His 'Born Standing Up' is up there in some of my favourite books.

That is a great book, yeah. But too short!

I agree Matthew. I'd love him to make a follow up.

I just wish he'd play his banjo more.

I just taught myself 'Hush Little Baby' on the banjo :D

I first saw him in Father Of The Bride 2 and since then have always thought of him as a very talented comedy actor.
