I'm certain that I wouldn't.

I meant for private use. That's just exhibitionism.

They've far more money than sense. £100 for 3 DVDs?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ November 9 2009, 4:12 PM GMTTo pretend that porn has no connection to any of these things is an act of denial. Like the belief that women who do it are actually enjoying it! it sounds like the 'it's not real life' (well it's not a dream or a hallucination - who do you think these people are who appear in these images?) is a justification to make users feel better. And being able to disassociate like that may not be entirely healthy. And of course porn is becoming increasingly more graphic - why? because it starts to lose its effect and viewers need 'stronger' images.
Plus there's nothing wrong with shame - it shows a you have a conscience!
I'm not denying there aren't any connections with those things, I imagine they all strongly weaved into the fabric of the industry.
I just take issue to the statement that all men desire the same typical big breasted blonde bimbos, and actively encourage sexual violence and support the entire media industries idea of beauty.
I'm certainly aware of the horrible nature of the porn industry, but it's no different to any other form of media, that pimps out woman. Fashion, film and music industry are just as guilty. But whose gonna give them up any time soon?
Maybe I should buy myself some of that organic porn, to make myself feel less guilty?

There's plenty of leaked private use stuff too.

And to overplay the connection is not only grossly irresponsible, but it is shifting the focus from actual motivations.

You're really not doing anything for your "I understand porn" case, Dolly.

Is that true?

I don't know, ask Jacqui Smith's husband. He might be able to clear up some of these other issues too.

Ok, fair dos!

Surely that was the essential truth behind the Office gag "I'm looking for a woman who's as intelligent or slighty less intelligent that me."
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ November 9 2009, 4:15 PM GMTAnd there I shall leave this discussion as, I'm sure many of you are thinking, I'm just a stupid girl who knows nothing. Of course this view of me is no way influenced by all the porn you've seen.
Oh Dolly, if only you knew how important porn was to men, I think you'd be genuinely shocked. It's one of the reasons we're fighting the Taliban, because they want to ban porn, booze and mini skirts - Hitler wanted to kill a few gypos - which is quite bad, but the Taliban want to get rid of naked ladies - where's my gun? Kill those Mooselimbs now!
What? Did you think we were fighting the Taliban so some Afghan girl could go to university and drive a car? Silly Dolly.
And wasn't it Oscar Wilde who said 'When porn is bad, it's good and when it's great, it's good, basically, porn is good.'

No, we just see that you have a very strange view of how and why men use porn.

On a related subject - women apparently buy ninety percent of the fiction in this country. I like women.
Quote: RubyMae - Glamourous Snowdrop at Large @ November 9 2009, 3:20 PM GMTRape isn't about sex, it's about power. I am not saying rapists don't get ideas from porn but it's never the main cause in my opinion.
Absolutely right. That's why S&M exists.
