I was scrolling through the TV scripts templates in my Final Draft 8 demo and when browsing the Family Guy template, there's a scene heading that reads:
INT./ESTAB
Pardon my ignorance, but could anyone tell me what the ESTAB stands for?

Presumably "establishing", i.e. a quick shot to show where we are. Like in The Simpsons where they show the outside of the house before a scene set inside. Used to move from one location to another.

That's what I suspected but pleased I've got a similar train of thought with you. Cheers, mate.
It means ESTABLISHING SHOT.
If your script is set in a house, it would be a shot of the house.
